Hello Guest!
"Or me, or these nasty flower wallpapers ..."

Oscar Ould said before his death. He died in 1900 at the L’Hotel in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, near the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. The writer lived in this issue for a long time and, judging by his dying words, he got the wallpaper. A world genius with a delicate vulnerable soul fell victim to wallpaper.

The Russian genius, Fedor Dostoyevsky, in Crime and Punishment, was even more irritated about the wallpaper: “He lit a candle and examined the number in more detail ... The walls looked as if they were knocked together from planks with cracked wallpaper, so dusty and tattered that their color (yellow) it was still possible to guess, but no drawing could already be recognized. ”

For more than a century, the appearance of wallpaper in most apartments in our country has changed little. True, despair and irritation gave way to jokes. Here is one of them about the quality of repair and construction work:

Masons: “Nothing, they will even it with plaster ...”
Plasterers: “Nothing, they will even out with putty ...”
Finishers, shpaklyuya, "Nothing, align the wallpaper ..."
